Laryssa has more than four years of experience teaching undergraduate writing, more specifically: basic reading and writing skills, creative writing, and multimedia composition. She has taught at community colleges and Rutgers – The State University of New Jersey. In addition, she’s worked as a writing center specialist, tutoring both undergrad and grad students and offering conversation practice to international students. She’s also tutored students ages 9 to adult. She can help students improve their academic and creative writing, reading comprehension skills, school-related English prompts and assignments, SAT writing and reading comprehension, vocabulary building, critical thinking, and research skills.
Fianlly, Laryssa has developed courses for private organizations, like a 10-week course for Waterfront Montessori, where she taught instructors how to communicate more effectively with one another and also write better progress reports for parents’ viewing. In another example, Laryssa developed a six-week essay-writing course for middle-school students enrolled in Metropolis Coach‘s enrichment program.
